Operations Division Director

Lead with strategy. Align systems. Strengthen the foundation for impact.

About the Role We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Operations Division Director to help shape the future of our organization by enhancing internal systems, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring the seamless functioning of our business operations as they scale for future growth. This high-level leadership role supports the CEO and Executive Team by managing the organization's internal infrastructure-free up executive capacity and ensuring CAPSA's continued growth and sustainability.

The Operations Division Director will oversee the finance, HR, and information systems functions, foster collaboration while respecting each team's distinct working style. The right candidate is an experienced leader who thrives in complex environments, brings structure to ambiguity, and enjoys building long-term solutions that strengthen organizational resilience and growth.

This new position reflects CAPSA's continued growth and is key to building sustainable systems that support long-term mission fulfillment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic guidance on operational improvements that reduce the day-to-day involvement required of the CEO.
  • Align finance, HR, and data systems to support sustainable growth and compliance with public and private funding requirements.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement long-term, cross-departmental solutions without micromanaging.
  • Monitor and report on financial and operational metrics to support executive decision-making.
  • Lead audit coordination and ensure that all external reviews-financial or programmatic-are well-organized and responsive.
  • Partner with the Business Support Director on financial oversight, reporting, and budgeting strategy.
  • Support the HR Director in advancing talent development, retention, and organizational culture initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Knowledge and Information Systems Director to improve data and technology processes that enhance organizational performance.

What You'll Bring

You have at least seven years of leadership experience in nonprofit operations, HR strategy, or a related field, with a proven ability to align independent teams around shared goals. Your track record includes improving business operations, navigating audits, managing risk, and leading through change. You thrive on clarifying complexity, turning challenges into systems, and lifting weight off executive leadership's shoulders. Whether it's aligning HR processes or refining reporting structures, you bring a steady, strategic presence to every room you're in.

You'll Excel in This Role If You Are:

  • A strategic thinker who can assess operations and drive improvements without disrupting day-to-day work.
  • Skilled at managing change and conflict, with an emphasis on respectful, clear communication.
  • Comfortable leading multiple departments and aligning them toward long-term goals.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented-able to take ownership and anticipate needs before they arise.
  • Knowledgeable about nonprofit compliance, audit preparation, and data-informed decision-making.
