At CAPSA, we are committed to building safe, empowering spaces for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and their families. Our on-site Children's Center serves a dual purpose: it provides trauma-informed care for the children of CAPSA clients receiving services-and it also supports CAPSA staff by operating as an employee daycare.

We're looking for a dependable, caring individual to join our Children's Center team. This position is ideal for someone who loves working with kids, is grounded in compassion, and understands how to support children in a calm, safe, and structured environment.

Who We're Looking For You're a natural with children-playful and warm, but confident in setting boundaries. You understand that some children in our care may be navigating tough experiences, and you know how to respond with empathy and consistency.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have experience caring for children (especially ages newborn to 7)
  • Can stay calm and focused when the room is full of energy
  • Are dependable, communicative, and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Take initiative, are detail-oriented, and care deeply about safety and emotional wellbeing

What You'll Do As a Children's Center Care Provider, you'll help create a structured and engaging environment for kids. You'll plan activities, help with daily routines, supervise play, and support children through transitions. Responsibilities include general care (diapers, naps, meals), cleaning and sanitizing play areas and toys, and communicating with parents and guardians. You'll also help maintain daily records and report any concerns to the Children and Youth Services Manager.

Shifts & Schedule This is a part-time position with hours available Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. More hours are available during the summer, with the option to reduce hours in the fall when school is back in session. This flexible schedule makes it a great fit for students, parents, or anyone needing work-life balance.

Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old with experience working with young children. CPR/First Aid certification and a Food Handler's Permit are required or must be obtained after hire. Candidates must be able to pass a background check and have strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Why CAPSA At CAPSA, you'll be part of a mission-driven organization that supports survivors, families, and staff alike. As part of the Children's Center, your work directly contributes to the healing process for survivors while also supporting the wellbeing of the CAPSA team. You'll receive training in trauma-informed care and be part of a collaborative, supportive environment.

If you're passionate about working with kids and want to make a difference in your community, we encourage you to apply.
